Your Destiny

Destiny gives meaning to your personal history

Have you ever had the looking-back experience?  Sometimes looking back gives you insights that you wish you had beforehand.  Reflecting on your personal history can also give you direction on the destiny in your life.  This happens through the way in which you create meaning from your personal history.  The meaning you create determines the next step forward.

You find meaning when your personal history connects you to a cause larger than yourself. Life is full of exemplary men and woman that dedicated their lives to making a difference in the world in their own way.  The first person that comes to my mind is Mother Theresa that dedicated her life to improving the lives of the people in Calcutta.  How did she manage to make such a huge difference?  She was convinced of being connected to a cause larger than herself.

Does destiny require you to follow the path of Mother Theresa or the path of Albert Sweitzer or the path of Joseph from Genesis?  No!  Part of their destinies is the unique ways in which they created and discovered their own destinies.  In their own way.  What you need to discover is how your own way connects your personal history to some cause bigger than yourself.
